Starbuck's Entertainment center

Project by kevin posted 281 days ago 982 views 15 times favorited 20 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Here’s an entertainment center I’ve just finished for a customer that brought me a top he bought off Ebay from a closed Starbuck’s Coffe shop. It’s black walnut and maple construction. The finish is my first attempt using David Marks favorite…wipe on poly/tung oil/linseed oil blend. I think it work great!

So what’s that thing on top? Read my lumberjocks blog to find out…I’ve documented the project there!

Thanks for looking everyone!

Looks great! Is the part mounted next to the “Garbage Goes Here” sign a lazy suzan for a TV? If so, I think you picked a VERY good location for the TV…

rwyoung…the piece on top is a swiveling stand for the center channel speaker of the surround sound system. The tv is a wall hung flat screen…I have some other pics of it in place I will post to the blog.

Really great design there. Love the large walnut supports. Really beautiful wood. Far out!

Kevin -

Darn, I was really hoping the TV would be mounted next to the “Garbage Goes Here” sign. :( Seems a much more appropriate place to put a TV.

Seriously, looks great and really slick way to recycle the countertop material.

Absolutely exquisite! I’M a big fan of curved work. I really like the shape of the entire piece. The top has that very pleasant upward curve that really works well. Great job.

Very nice piece. I especially like the curves. It looks like the shelves pull out like drawers. Do they? I’m in the planning stages of a piece for my own living room. Do you mind if I copy a bit of the look and feel of your piece when I design mine?
