My boss came to me last week and wanted a stand for some antique duck calls. He gave me a general size and told me to go with it. I don’t have a router, so I my dad offered to make the base and profile the edge, and I turned the dowel rods to the right diameter. Everything is made from walnut and finished with a mixture of walnut Tung oil, polyurethane, boiled linseed oil and paste wax. It was a fun little project, which hopefully will earn me some brownie points with the boss. Thanks for viewing.

Nice work.
Ask him if he will take you duck hunting, which is the most fun you can have with your pants on.

I went duck hunting a messy business when the birds are shot the bleed a lot not worth the effort unless you’r starving with no money it is in my opinion a cruel thing to do and no I am a meat eater and don’t mind others doing these things just didn’t suit me that’s all I am saying some birds mate for life too oh well Alistair

It did turn out great. I know Hal really appreciates it.
Maybe Scotsman needs to eat some meat.
