Download free from The official CBdesigner website

First of all, I'm blown away by all the kind words and feedback that I have received ever since I first released the original CBdesigner back in 2008. It makes me glad to know that I was able to provide at least some assistance to woodworkers as they pour their creativity into designing their cutting boards.

It's been almost 7 years since v1.3 but I'm happy to announce that I finally got around to making version 2.0! It retains the same functionally with a few new bells and whistles. I spruced up the GUI so it is pleasing to the eye and more user friendly. One of the biggest changes is a Settings menu where the user can now set default settings and has the ability the make their own custom wood library (one of the most requested features by people). You can also export your cutting board to a pdf file where you can print it for use in your shop. I also added a randomize feature to help with the design process. And best of all, you don't have to install that pesky OCX file anymore. Just unzip and run the executable! You do need Microsoft .NET framework installed but most Windows machines should have it installed already.

I also want to thank everyone who has monetarily supported my efforts to make this program. I decided to continue to keep this version 100% free in the spirit of supporting the woodworking community at large. I am appreciative of anything you want to donate.

Since this is a new version, I appreciate any questions/comments/suggestions you might have when running the program so I can incorporate them in future version when I get the chance.

Special thanks to Brad for helping me out over the years by developing the website and hosting the files.

Have fun making your cutting boards!

So you're the one!! I've used the old program and loved it. Cant wait to try out the new improved version! Thanks a ton for your hard work and for not charging for the software like the "other" guy did! I have to admit, the original version was sort of a pain to get working correctly but once you downloaded and installed all the necessary software it worked quite well!

Thanks Scott! Glad you liked the previous version! This one doesn't need that stupid OCX file anymore (a result of using a very outdated programming language). You won't believe the number of people asking how to install that file for the past 7 years!

Thanks for using your skills to develop a very nice program and offering it without charge. I've visited the website and have seen what the v1.3 does and it looked nice, but I'm running a Mac OSX. Is there a possibility of a Mac-compatible version in the future?

Unfortunately a Mac version is slim to none. I don't own a Mac and don't know the first thing about Mac programming languages. Visual Basic for Windows was easy enough to learn especially since programming is not my day job.

This software is great! It makes playing around with ideas, thicknesses and woods easy. Love the randomize feature.

Here's my $2.00. I used the old version a few times and then it got messed up somehow. Probably something I did! Thanks for providing this resource.

Jay, downloaded and played around a little and like the program very much. Is there a library associated with this? Like Sketchup warehouse??
