This has to be the the heaviest cherry desk I’ve ever built with a top thickness of one and seven eights. Overall, it was 36 by 96 inches X 28 inches tall.
I built the base of polished solid brass tubing designed for Bar Railing. Used floor flanges on the bottom of the desk and 3-tube T-connectors to connect the cross pieces to each other and the legs. The bottom of the legs were finished off at the floor with Rail End Caps. The rails and fittings were made solid with flux and solder.
The desk is finished on all sides with conversion lacquer for durability as well an stability since the slab was so large. The top and edges were rubbed and polished to a high gloss. The base was polished and finished with high gloss brass lacquer.
Hope you enjoy it.

Very nice ! I like the brass legs and I do love a large desk with room to spread your papers (bills).
