Just a plane window treatment

This is one of the windows in my shop.
I had made the row of small drawers about a year before finsihing the carving but did not have an idea of how I wanted to finsh off the window treatment.
One winter day my daughter was in the shop when I was hand planing a board. She took a photo of me while working with the plane. She then used the photo to draw the same on a sheet of paper. I decided to transfer her photo on a piece of birch and make a relief carving. Over the time as I was carving I was thinking about what to do with it once it was completed. What I came up with was to use it in the window treatment that I had started quite some time before. I used the carving over the window which led to the idea to make the side casings look like planes.
Photos of the process to construct the drawer cabinet can be viewed here

Garry: I love it. I love the title of your posting also, a real play on words, and very catchy. The carving is wonderful. I’m also envious of what your shop seems to look like. Welcome to the group,

Thanks for the comments.
Mark, the Church Sound Equipment Storage Cabinet caught my eye.

Dennis, I like your rustic flavor

Wow. I’m glad I came across this project. It is really cool. A long time ago, I spent about 4 years in the Marquette area. Wonderful area.
