I decided I needed a wood box for my back patio. I was tired of traipsing across the back yard to get fire wood every time I wanted to have a fire. I also wanted a place to store kindling and keep it dry.
I made this box entirely out of recycled lumber scavenged from pallets and shipping boxes (that’s where the plywood came from).
This is the base being constructed.
Here I am attaching the right side of the box.
Another shot of the build process.
Of course, I had a lot of help when it came time to paint and seal the wood.
The finished project. The top box was painted with an exterior oil-based paint to match our house’s siding.
The bottom portion just got a thick coat of Valspar Urethane to seal the heck out it.
And finally, stocking the box. It is working just fine. We’ve had several campfires in the back yard now, and our supply of large roasting marshmallows is getting critically low.
