Dining Table

Project by HenryH posted 297 days ago 742 views 6 times favorited 13 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This is a dining table I made for my wife. It’s made of solid Walnut. The line inlay is Red Oak. The Character inlay is Cherry.
The center piece is the Chinese character ‘mei’. This is the ancient form of Chinese writing. It loosely translates to ‘beauty’ though it has a deeper meaning than that.
My wife is Chinese-American and chose this for the table.

That is an amazing piece of work . . . real craftsmanship and talent! Your wife must be very happy about this table. Where did you get such beautiful wood?

I have thumbed through your projects, nice buy on the walnut. Stepping outside of your strait lines has also produced some beautiful pieces.

I am sure your wife and daughter are happy with their gifts and proud of you on your talents. I like the inlays. Do you do most of them free hand or do you create templates for them all.
