A simple hook

Project by ThreeJs posted 300 days ago 718 views 0 times favorited 8 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This crochet hook was one of my first and favorite projects. It is a simple hook made from walnut that I turned between centers on my lathe. The knot was not visible to me when I started the turning project, so this was one of those happy accidents that work out every once in a while.

If you are curious, I hand cut the hook itself with a razor saw, and pared away the waste with a chisel. You got to have a sharp chisel to keep from popping the end off a hook like this.

Well hope you enjoyed looking at one of my favorite items. It is a joy to hold, use, and view.

Thanks
David

Very cool… I like the tone of that walnut…

Very nice!

My Mother used to crochet a lot of things. She would have liked this.

Cool!

My aunt knits, I may have to make her one of these- probably won’t be able to find a knot as nice as yours.

Good Luck in the contest.

Yes you did. I edited the post to add crochet to the first line, after your comment. :)
