I just got tied of trying to find my my daughter’s coat and my keys. I bought a 6 foot 1”x4” without knots from my local “orange colored” home depository store. Yes, it did take a while to find one without knots, but I did. I put 5 simple hooks separated evenly apart and about 6 inches from each end. I took a small plane and trimmed the edge off and just left it as is. I left the screw out a bit to hang my keys on it.
It ain’t much, but my family & I like it.

Boy do we need one of these in our house. It’s like a circus around here every time someone goes to leave. 4 sets of car keys and can’t find any of them!
Super Project!!

Nice job, years ago the people never had closets, because they didn’t have too many clothes.
This could take care of a family of five.

Skillet, Welcome to LumberJocks. Nice project to start with. Very useful. I have made several for my own house and a few for friends and they are a great way to practice with tools as well as finishing techniques.
Look forward to seeing other projects.
