I made this project at Wahoo High School in our wood shop. I used walnut and maple. This project was hard to accomplish because the long maple strips were three boards jointed together, cross cut, and then ripped and sanded down to 1/4 in strips. It was a fun project but a lot of work. For a finish I just used mineral oil.

Brick wall pattern is probably the simpliest among all endgrain patterns but I must admit I like it the most. Great work!

It just hit me but this pattern would be a great backsplash pattern. Then do the whole wall over the stove. I like where this is going.
