I made this box for my Mom for Christmas.
The middle piece is from the old firewood pile that sat in frount of her house for 20 years. I love the knotts. Its a perfect piece of North Idaho Larch. The oak is from a blow over tree that my mom helped me winch up onto my trailer. The walnut accents are from the very first piece of wood i ever salvaged. The walnut tree dropped a limb in a wind storm and i grabbed it.
Enjoy the pics.

Great box – nice design.
The beauty of wood grain around the nots hidden by nature was revealed, it’s just because you turned threat into opportunity.
