Created out of necessity due to space requirements, this bar set sits eight people and easily fits in a hallway.
I salvaged some old skids from a flooring company that used to burn them because they took up too much room. Brazilian imported wood also comes on brazilian exotic wood skids. What a beautiful surprise Dad and I got when we first planed up a muddy piece of this junk wood.

Great find. I love to discover wood like that.
You and your dad really turned that reclaimed wood into
a very beautiful and useful project.

this is cool. Years ago when Brazil forbid the export of certain wood, exporters there got creative and started making export crates out of those woods and nobody caught it. When goods arrived, the crates were more valuable than the goods inside.

Nice bar and stools. Great work!

Beautiful find. Do you have any idea what kind of wood it is.

This is a really nice post. I love to see wood “recycled” like this. The wood could have ended up in a landfill or transformed into btus and ash but you gave it new life in this gorgeous bar. It is hard to tell from the picture but the darker wood looks like cumaru or brazillian teak to me.

I beleive some of the darked (redish) wood to be Jatoba and some of the lighted unknown wood was extremely spalted and hard to identify. Thanks for the praise.

Well done Cameron. Nice design and a good use for recycled materials.

I’m equaly impressed that you have a hallway big enough for this bar and eight people. :-)
