It is fun to take a log, and work on it with a hand saw and hatchet, then some planes, and ultimately create a functional item. I needed a place to put some more seedlings next to the window, so this plant stand should do the trick. It is 2 inches thick on top, and the legs are 1.25 inches in an octagonal profile. I used a brace and 1 inch bit for the wedged tenons. The dog is real excited about it.

Looks great, Where I live a table like that could very easily fetch up to four or five hundred bucks, or more if it was in the right shop.

You probably couldn’t give away anything with Asian, Arts & Crafts or Mission influence but a table like that would fly out the door especially if it was known to be hand tooled.
