Mahogany and Walnut Chests

Please enjoy these pictures of my latest woodworking project.

A pair of 16×9 inch mahogany and walnut chests with:

Resawn 5/4 mahogany for the case and floor
Resawn 4/4 walnut for the top
Paired 1/4 walnut splines to reinforce the mitered corners
An integrated lip to strengthen the box when closed
Solid brass hardware – hinges, hasp, chain, and handles
Sliding removable tray
Danish Oil

That mahogany is very nice! I love the walnut/mahogany combination, and your chest looks great with it!
