This is a skewer knives block that I made with curly cherry, canary, purple heart and bloodwood. The joints are half laps and the block is swept forward at 22.5 degrees and the joints are half laps There are 4 rare earth magnets in the front for steak knives. I also made scales for 2 chef knives in matching curly cherry. I saw the magnet idea from a fellow member who made a quarter circle knives holder but I forgot your name, but thanks.

That is really awesome, I put it on my list for Christmas gifts.

Nice work, I very much like the wood combination. Any idea how many of the skewers you needed to fill the block?

I don’t remember the exact number but I made a mock up and got an approximation of around 80-100 skewers per square inch of opening. I then bought the skewers online from a restaurant whole saler. Buying them at the store was too expensive.

The more skewers you pack in there the harder it is to get a lot of knives, so you have to find a balance

Very nice, I like the versatility on the amount of knives you can place in it.

Have your say...
