I’ve made a bunch of these for the NAACP banquet each year. It’s a bare bones type project for table centerpieces and they take care of the painting and decorating.

When the committee came back for more the second year I asked what happened to the ones I made the year before and was told they had auctioned them off. I hung onto the jigs after that. Most of the work is on the router table and drill press with the slot for the balance arm cut on the table saw.

Not a big deal but it’s a break from the usual and they make a lot of people happy.

Did you design these yourself? I would have never thought of this.

I guess so. The customer said she wanted table decorations like a scale of justice and wanted the cost to be no more than $20 each. I took it from there.

By the way, congratulations on your son’s achivements. I know you have to be proud. My oldest boy is a forth generation Eagle Scout.

I like your design. I wish I would have seen it about eight years ago when I made one for a VBS object lesson. Mine turned out useable for the Bible lesson (illustrating that salvation is through the blood of Jesus Christ and not by your good deeds outweighing your sins), but I think your design is much better. Thanks for sharing.
