Bucking tradition here, I made some clocks not based on the wood whisperer’s design. I gave these to a few random people for christmas, I made a batch of 6 of them. The woods are maple, paduak, purpleheart and cherry, used in different combinations in different clocks.

I got the movements from woodcraft and rockler. Although if you are buying a few it is cheaper from klockit, work out the shipping to see if it works for you or not. I bought mine in drips and drabs rather than all at once or klockit would have been a lot cheaper.
