This accent lamp is made of Spalted Maple for the shade and the base is made from Macacuba. I have made other lamp using a variety of exotic woods for the shade and the base. The second picture is of the lamp at night.

Very cool – what does it look like when lit up in a dark room?

Very nice design and execution. How thick are the spalted maple shade parts?

Dan, thank you, we have this one in the corner of a room and it cast a glow to light up this corner, I use a 25 watt frosted tubular light bulb so it is not that bright it’s just enough. I will add a picture tomorrow.
