Frames * Fourteen!

I made a batch of fourteen picture frames so I could hang up some new prints while making use of some scrap. Only two were alike – the last picture in G&G has a sibling.

Since I can only post six pictures, I uploaded my favorites. I made three in a Greene & Greene style with pronounced joints and ebony plugs.

Woods used for the frames:
  • Black walnut
  • Hickory
  • Mesquite
  • Canary
  • Jatoba
  • African mahogany
  • White oak

Finished with a few coats of General Arm-R-Seal and wax.

Completed 2-2015

Very nice pieces! How did you join the edges? Half lap on the G&G with plugs?

I encountered the six pic limitation as well, and discovered a quick work around (if you’re interested). You can post unlimited (well, at least 14) number of pics into the comments section. So you could refer to the comments section in your description and upload the pics there. Hope that helps, and nice work!

The simpliest joint looks awsome with G&G. Beautiful frames.
