I made a similar box like this recently (the fourth photo) and sold it right away so I wanted to make another one for the upcoming show. This one has the same diamond router pattern design but has rounded corners instead of the light sculpting.
I have one more leopardwood box I hope to complete before I pack up the van in the next couple of days.

This box is 8×5x 3 1/8” and has a gator leather lined bottom. The finish is lacquer.

Love the router work. Would like to see it done.

Great work.

-- Mother Nature created it, I just assemble it.

Greg,

This box looks a little different than the one you sold? Might be lighting or the wood? Have a great time and check out the local lumber folk. Getting a little warmer here. Hope the roads are clear!

Tom…I posted a photo of the one I sold (photo #4) so you can see the slight differences…otherwise they are very similar.

Monte…thanks. I’m having fun with the router work and find it good practice to keep my router techniques up to par…practice, practice and mo’ practice

I can see why they sell so well. Great technique.

Greg, I really like the Router boxes. Are you using one of those Trim Routers, or a full size hand held router? I wish you were one of those video makers – I’d love to see your technique. Great looking box. Happy selling at your show!

Beautiful piece, I had it pegged as lacewood/silky oak. Same thing?

Hey Bill…I use a Dewalt 611 trim router. It’s more than powerful enough for this light routing and easy to control.
