My Bro-In-Law has a welding background… and as such pulled down his pergola (made of Oregon) to replace with steel. My Q to him “what ya going to do with the timber?” He said chuck it…. Of course that didn’t happen. After 10 years of nagging from the “Minister of Finance & War” (Wife) I made this dining table. Very basic and weighs a ton. Finished it with Linseed oil.

Yes, its a spruce/pine. It’s been used a lot, where I’m from for Pergolas.

Oregon pine is Douglas fir. It’s a nice looking table.
