Wife's new bed

I made this bed for my wife as a Valentine’s Day gift. The headboard is 1×4’s I got at the lumberyard. Stained them gray and polyed them. The bed frame is made from the beams of the old grainery we had on the farm here. My guess is they are about 200 years, my great-great grandpa and great grandpa hand hewn them. I painted the frame to cover up the sharp ax marks and make sure it didn’t pull the threads of the sheets. She loves it.

The over sized nature of the headboard acts like an art piece on the wall too – cool idea
