I made this Armoire sized to fit 18 inch dolls like American Girl. This one is made for a very special friend of mine however I could make more. I will likely get a request from a granddaughter but we will see.

This is constructed from cabinet grade Baltic birch plywood, for the case, and oak for the face frames and other members. It measures 21 inches tall by 9 and 1/4 deep by 11 and ¾ inches wide. The basic case is dadoes to receive the shelf members. The face frame is held to the case with biscuits. I did use a few brads for extra strength.

The drawer measures (inside) 8 and ½ inches wide by 6 and ½ inches deep by 2 and ½ inches tall and is perfect for storing all of the extra necessaries.

Not clearly shown in any picture is the corners of the case and doors. These have a spine for extra strength. This is a small strip of thin wood placed at the intersection of two members to add strength and rigidity.

The entire unit is finished with a light walnut stain and rub-on poly. Perhaps will get additional coats.

Of all this items I have built for this series this was the most fun. Could be where I know it is going or could be just the challenges and detail I tried to use. Anyway, I just enjoyed the hack out of it.

I think it looks beautiful,it must be hard to make furniture that size and still get the proportions/look right.

Wow, impressive. I can’t remember the name for those beads in the moiling, did you really carve all those by hand? That’s quite a commitment for doll furniture. I see this stuff in my future though.
