Wanted three large mirrors, did not like the designer mirrors price of $700 a piece.
Construction:
- Made frames from red oak, joined at base using dowels – 27” x 72”
- Routed 3/4” x 1/4” rabbet into frame
- Sanded and finished frames – minwax mahogany red 225 (3 coats) + minwax satin poly
- Insert mirror and 1/4” mdf as backer
- Use triangular corner braces with pocket screws to keep sides square and to hold mirror and backer in place
- Hung using OOK hardware (2×100lbs hooks)

Really nice looking mirrors and I bet you only spent around 10% of the $700.00 each on these. And it’s made the way you want it.
