Gun Case Coffee Table

This was actually a friends build, I just helped out with some of the woodwork. The gun case itself was surplus supplies from the cold war. It was used to ship and store Soviet SKS Rifles. For one reason or another they were for sale at a local Canadian Tire store. We carefully removed the cross braces from the lid, making sure not to damage the original paint. We cut out the center to allow for a piece of laminated glass. We routed grooves in the bottoms of the cross braces for recessed LED light strips to enhance the effect. All said and done it turned out pretty well, just don’t pull the pin on the grenade….that would be bad!

Humble it is especialy when here is a grenade sitting in the bottom of the table !
Not to mention what looks to be a native Gurka killing Knife as well just in case the grenade does not finish you off!
