Here’s a wall unit that I completed during my winter break. It’s made with birch plywood and poplar moldings.
It’s stained with Miniwax red mahagony and finished with 3 coats of Cabot polyurethane followed by 4 coats of wipe on poly. I planned on putting an embossed carving at the top of each of the flutes, but they were lost in the mail and I’m still waiting for the new ones to arrive.

This is a beautiful piece. I am working on some built-ins right now with a similar front facade. Since it is going in our basement, my wife wants me to paint it white to keep the room lighter, but the way this turned out really makes me want to stain it.

Great looking bookcase. Please post another picture when you get the carvings added.
