Scroll Saw Bowl

Project by MrsN posted 311 days ago 567 views 1 time favorited 7 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I made these bowls on my scroll saw. Originally I was going to have one maple bowl and one walnut bowl, but I decided that I liked the mis-matched look.

MrsN,
Really nice Scroll work. I like the two different colors as well. Whats the finish going to be? I enjoy Scrolling when I can take the time, it’s so relaxing for me. Congratulations again on two nice bowls.
Sincerely,
Ken McGinnis

I am not entirely sure what the finish will be, I haven’t had time to finish it so I haven’t decided yet. It might be a spray satin poly, because it is easy.

The bowls are a pattern from Steve Good’s Blog I used thicker wood then his pattern called for, so I only cut every other ring.

Thats a great looking bowl. How thick are the wood layers. I’ve never usually cut thick wood on the scroll saw. I usually use the bandsaw and it wouldn’t woork too well on the bowl.
