Looks like a potential heirloom to me. My son loves Thomas the tank engine, although your model looks more like Gordon.

Gotta Thomas fanatic in my home. I thought about doing something like this, but chickened out thinking off the face. Made a traditional looking train I posted a while ago. Need to give this a shot, Thomas and his friends are getting rather expensive!!

Yeah, the face scared me too. I found a Thomas coloring book and traced the image on the front of the engine then trimmed away with my Roto tool till I got something that looked remotely like the picture.

Yep, Gordon was my model because it was much simpler to build with few small details.

What a magnificent train! How about building your g-nephew a train table for his little toy trains. We used train table plans that showed us how to build the playtable in about 3 hours.

Great job. We too have a Thomas fan in the house, he would love Dad to make him Tidmuth (sp?) Shed for his birthday. I can’t even spell it never mind build it…I guess I could learn how to do both LOL!
