This is my very first woodworking project. It was made for my Mother for a christmas present. I decided to make something for her verses purchasing a gift. She loved it. There are some mistakes in it, but only a woodworker would notice. It was a great learning experience for me and came to realize that the tools make all of the difference. I hope you like it. My special thanks go out to Mark, the wood wisperer for the idea and personal help. Thank you Mark.

Well done, I really like the chamfers you put on the corners. It added a different dynamic to the project compared sharp corners. Keep it up, but be careful, you’ll find woodworking extremely addictive!

Thanks for the encouragement guys,
The chamfers came as a result of a broken corner. I dropped one piece on the floor and dinged up the corner. Sometimes mistakes can improve a project. I think Mark said on one of his podcasts, There are going to be mistakes in projects, but it’s how well you hide them that really counts.
