STATISTIC: Open segmented part. 41 levels 36 segments each= 1476 pieces the base and neck, 12×7 = 84 and 2 disks to block the base rings, total of 1634 pieces.
done by 4 stages plus the base and neck.
I may add the story later on.

Well done Sam. Looks great.
Good shape, very pleasing colour combination. But I don’t think it will hold water – LOL .

great looking piece off art there is a lot of pieces in it
never done a open segment piece yet seeing yours
i must try one how long did it take you how many hours
love the wood choose and shape of it

Branch, if you make it for money, get ready to work for 50 cents an hour. if you make it for love, well, the longer it takes is the more excited you feel, like anything else.

Another Super project!

Looks like it calls for Ultra Sharp tools ALL of the Time!??

Just curious… how do you know there is 1,634 pieces… 1, 632… 1,636… etc.?
Did each section really have all they were supposed to have?
Did you count them 2 times just to double check it? :)

Joe, there are 2 unseen pieces. The base is made of 2 rings of 12 pieces each and I had to block them with 2 disks of timber, but they are there and took time to do that, part of the process.
