I’ve been busy as a 1 armed wall paper hanger, and making projects was not on the list. This is something I slapped together a few years back. All I needed was a benchtop table saw , a compound miter saw and a hammer and a few chisels, which was real cool since that pretty much was what I had anyway. The type drawer was a gift, the wood is a 1×4 pine that wasn’t doing anything else, so this was right in my price range. I did have to remove the original dividers. I ripped the 1×4 to a width equal to its depth, mitered the corners, half lapped the joints where they crossed. The photo’s are print outs from the computer, so I could size the photo to fit the hole. I like it, thanks for checking it out.

If I’m not very mistaken….... The type case (the way it was) is worth lots of $$$. As a matter of fact, I know they are. Nice photo frame though.

I paid $5 for the last one I bought.

If the ones you are buying are in pretty good shape, you should consider trying to buy a few and cleaning them up and sell them. It really just depends on which part of the country you’re in, but in some places they are a hot item. This is a photo of one I have hanging in the kitchen. The case came from the shop where I worked with my dad and grandfather. All the type in the case is also from the shop. We’ve added a few small trinkets too.
