Roll top hutch

I had some solid oak leftover from another project I had not been able to finish, so i cam up with this piece. I absolutely love all things functional, so tambour doors are among my favorite designs to fabricate. The grain patterns in the oak really inspired me to keep the shapes elegant and natural. As with alot of my projects, I tend to get excited and carried away, which does nothing to help me savour the experience. This piece took me around 26 hours to complete.

Very nice. Did you work off a bought plan or did you do this yourself?

I designed this myself. I thought of and added details as I went.

knurlesnburls,
Beautiful piece of furniture! I love the white oak and it’s ruggedness. The legs are very elegant, indeed. I like functional pieces of furniture as well. Any chance you have any additional photos with the roll top open so that we can see inside? Congratulations on an excellent build. This one really jumped out at me as I was perusing the newer projects.

Sincerely,
Ken McGinnis

A beautiful, & unique looking creation.

It’s fun to design something as you’re building it.
