Tommy,
That desk turned out awesome! The figure across the entire piece is spectacular, you did the antique wood justice for sure. Yet another piece in your gallary you should be proud of! Keep inspiring us.

Dare I ask what’s your next masterpiece undertaking will be?

TMac, that desk is beautiful. I’ve enjoyed following your videos on the build and finish on TChisel.com.
Have a great day.

T-Chisel, again another surperb piece of fine furniture leaving the shop floor. The approach to the build is inspiring as always. Such a methodical build, from the super tight dovetail on the drawers and case front to the careful placement of the wood grain throughout the piece. The perfect reveal and subtle decline in the sizing of the drawers are perfect. Your choice of hardware is excellent as the dull antique pewter look does not draw the eye away from the craftmanship. Just like SwedishIron, keep inspiring us…...... Time to make more room on the master’s floor of Fine Furniture.

Pretty cool. I watched an old rerun on PBS. Dont remember the name of the show but it is the one that the guy builds stuff with just hand tools. He had a segment that he had some guests and they built one of these and assembled it with no screws nails or glue involved. It even had a few secret compartments in it. They always make it look so damned easy.

Tommy,

Love the color. I enjoy the lighter pieces of this style of furniture. In the darker pieces it just seems like the little details get lost. Great craftsmanship!!!

This pairing of lumber and style is not something you see a lot of. The result is nothing less than spectacular!

Stunning! Packed full of details everywhere you look. I really like the detail on the dividers. You used what looks like a sliding dovetail and you recessed the dovetail “shoulders” in a shallow dado. I’ve never noticed that on other pieces, I like it.

Whoa. How many 2×4s did you end up using? Kidding. That turned out spectacular. Excellent work. Great photos too. Really point out the precision.

Tom, this is a fantastic piece. It will be called “A Very important Piece” the antiquelizers of the future. But, of course, we expect no less from you and you never disappoint. That is some spectacular grain on the maple.

Tommy, I came back to have another look the desk and was readiing the comments that everyone posted and Dooley……up there, was wondering the same question as myself……....how did you do the feet? And yes……........it is always good to hire a professional to do shots of your work, especailly…. if you are wanting to sell your work….......(lol) and I may happen to know a really good photographer….......if you were to ever need one.
