Playing (Bridge) card box

Project by wormhole posted 171 days ago 356 views 1 time favorited 7 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I made this as a Christmas gift for my Dad; it is a box for keeping Bridge cards in. Made from walnut with quilted maple inlay. The top and bottom are from a single block, bandsawed apart. I used a template to route out the inside of the bottom, and router to cut the rabbit in the top. Biggest challenge was actually finding bridge-sized cards to put inside.

That box has no equal in the marketplace because you made it for your Dad…anything with that much love attached to it is surely worth its weight in gold.

I love this idea! I have a number of family & friends that play cards that this would be perfect for them. Thanks for sharing!

Great looking box. I agree with Barry, there will be nothing your Dad will find that will have a greater value as a gift than something he can lay his hands on and know that his son made it with love and respect for him.

What a gift, just perfect! I am sure your Dad will love it…............

I really like the way you “wrapped” the box with the inlay, very nice touch.

Thanks for sharing
