This is by far the best box I’ve made so far (I’ve done 5 or 6 at this point) . Brought most of my tools in the airframes shop and built it at work. Made for a female Staff Sergeant who made myself, and everyone else around her better Marines. We presented it to her at last year’s Marine Corps ball. Will miss her dearly.
Woods are ribbon stripe sapele, with the “blood” stripe from blood wood. Miter splines are yellow heart. Finished with general finishes semi-gloss wipe on poly

Nicely done and great design. Love the inlay work on the frame.

Thank you for the compliments. It’s not actually an inlay. I have yet to attempt that skill. Will probably do so on my next project. I’m still beginner. It’s a solid rip glued together and planed down.
