I’ve been a lurker here for sometime but this is the first project I feel is decent enough to share. I am but a fledgling woodworker after all…

It is a tablet/book stand for my better half for her birthday. She needed someplace to set her cookbooks that was easier to see than just lying them flat killing more counter space. So after perusing the works of others I took a lot of liking to Froggys version which can be found at http://lumberjocks.com/projects/91940. Thanks for the inspiration Froggy! His is more complex than mine but this one serves her needs and she likes it.

It is made from Basswood and Cherry with I believe three coats of poly finish. The slope is at 60 degrees and bottom has some felt pads.

It is simple but opens the door to doing many more things for the family and home. I’m looking forward to sharing as I complete more projects!

And thanks to cricket for fixing my posting issue!

Really nice work. You could sell these on Etsy as iPad Stands too.
