I made this box as a wedding present for a friend of mine. The box is 5” x 8.” (I tried to get close to Fibonacci sizing).

The top is Bubinga, the long side is Paduak and the ends are spalted maple. The bottom is alder.

The top is chamfered into the sides giving a tight fit and allowing for future wear. The wood thickness is 3/4.”

I used the Leigh RTJ400 on our router table to make the dovetails.

The finish is Polycrylic.

Interesting box.

While the variety of woods is interesting I think they distract from your overall good design.

That looks great! I like the spalted maple.
