This is a desk I am building for my wife. It is solid cherry with two drawers and measures 70” long 20” deep and 33” tall. You can see the top on my workbench as i am trying to joint them. The legs are a little tricky to do. They start off 2” on the top then taper down to 3/4 of an inch. Hand planing that much material is alot of work. I hope to have it done soon. I will keep you posted.

Very nice desk – great work! I understand how laborious is hand planning.
Do update us on the progress of this project and thanks for sharing with us.

Maybe I misunderstand…you are planing off 1 1/4 inches of the legs? Why not saw the waste off and then plane to a final dimension? Its been a long day so maybe I am missing something.
