This is a piece I’m currently working on. The wood I’m working in is basswood I haven’t measure it yet, but the height is about 3 feet. I’ll list the exact size on my next post. The panel consist of two boards that are 2 inches thick. I hope to be finished with this project by the end of next week.

Kenneth,
I’ve done a fair bit of carving; I’ve looked at a lot of carving; this is the single best carving I have seen in quite a while! I love the sylized nature of it. It is a celebration of the subject! Very Greek/Roman statue. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Wonderful curves! How about a video of you actually doing some carving? Great piece! I can’t wait to see the finished results. What are the final plans for it’s display?

Thank you guys for all of your comments.

MMH,
About making a video of me carving, I’m not sure I’m ready for that, maybe one day. This carving is simply an art piece so when I’m finished it will hang on the wall.
Thank you

John Gross,
I mainly use chisels but sometimes I’ll use knives and pretty much anything else that will help me accomplish the look I’m after.
Thank you
