Hemlock Shop Box

This was yet another study. I was trying to create a better seal for my future humidor efforts, so I increased the size of the inner lip and did some beveling so it would clear. Gradually sanding down until I got a perfect “pillow drop” seal.

I pieced together the inner lip from some leftover cedar and the box is just cheap hemlock, so it’s not really good enough to sell in my Etsy store, but It should make a nice box for shop use, and I learned the lessons I needed to from it.

Rather “fancy” for just shop use :-) Nice box.

And oops, is that a crack I see across the back?

Thanks Joe, yeah, I agree, but with the pieced together seal and the cheap wood, I can’t see selling it to anyone, and I don’t want it to go to waste.

No crack in back :-) , it’s just a dark vein of wood grain, that’s why I decided to put it in back.
