four legged bowl

Project by craven posted 302 days ago 274 views 1 time favorited 5 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Here is a bowl I turned from an idea I had the day before Joe Brinkman posted his zebrawood skirted bowl. As I commented on his posting, my idea was similar but applied a little differenty. Bowl is cherry with one coat of tung oil and a couple coats of wipe on poly. I hope you enjoy this one, my next one like this will have broader reaching legs, possibly with differing species, what do you guys think? Craven

I think it is really neat. You could make it very Asian looking if you ebonized the feet on the next one. Good Job!

I really like the look of that. Did you make it double bowled and then just table saw off 4 edges of the bottom bowl?

I would love to make a few bowls and may purchase a lathe sometime soon (wife-willing)

cool! When you say the next will look like another species, I’m picturing it looking even more ‘animated’... like it might actually walk away.

I like the bowl and the idea of different woods on the next would add another element to it. I hope you know I’m going to have try one of these now.
