are the endgrain ends that fasten to the contrasting strips just edge glued or biscuited or what? Have you had any problems with movement going in two directions with the different pieces?

do you mean the famous middle ages mathematian from pisa (italy)? the sequence 0 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 21 and so on? yeah, but it was not designed like that on purpose (i mean the design is in this sequence but I did not sit down and calculate it like that), I am unfortunately not that clever, especially not in math! Your eyes do not decieve you…
