we just bought a house back in August and it has an island in the kitchen. Our kids like to watch us cook or draw or whatever at the island but they have been having to use their step stools. I made these stools to (somewhat) match the benches I made for our dining room table (post here). The tops are cypress and the bottoms are pine, finished in Mission Oak stain with 2 coats of high build poly. Not sure why but this was probably my least favorite project of all the ones I have done.

Thanks for looking.

Nice job Macster. They definitely look good next to the Island.
Do the tops incline toward the center? I can’t see in the photo.

Yes…they are saddle seats…1/2” arch cut into the seat.

I love this stool style, made one (cruder version) from scrap this time last year for the shop.

Very nice pieces, love the chamfers on the side of the seats.

Nice looking stools. They match your cabinet perfectly!
