welcome to LJ’s

Nicely done for the first project. Now this is something that could be popular in Thailand, really like the baby tucked in there. Did you freehand it or is it from a pattern?

Very nice!
The baby elephant is so cute – I feel like taking it away, so the mother will keep puzzling…

My mom draw main line on the wood and I just fallow line with the jig saw … not realy easy as the wood is about 1 inch thick. If you want a more usable picture for a reproduction I can post one.

A great looking toy. How thick are the boards?

echarde,

Thanks for the offer of posting the reproduction picture but I managed to print out the first photo, cut it out and enlarge to the size I wanted. In order to make the cutting task easier, the thickness of the wood will be reduced, 1” is a lot to ask of a scroll saw.

oop’s sorry, I’m french and i make a vocabulary mistake, I did not use a jig saw but a scroll saw, I don’t know if this is doable with a jig saw as the blade is perhaps too thick. The wood used here is european beech this is not a really hard wood. the thickness of the wood will be surely a problem with a tropical hardwood.

this is so cute!! A job well done, especially with 1” thick wood. Well done.

When I made puzzles like that I’d use a band saw with a 1/8” blade.

I just post an other picture, if you print it you can use it as a patern, the chisel you can see on top right is 1”.
If you build one with this patern, share your picture here please :)
