How old are the chickens there? Are you raising chickens for the eggs?

I’m curious, my wife and I have chickens too.

The chicks shown are about 5 weeks old. My daughter is actually going to be showing them for her 4H project.

Did you land up rebuilding another coop?
I started off with a small cage years ago. Then a friend brought me their old coop and then I had one built for me and then another bigger wooden building landed here. I have over two hundred chickens now. I didn’t start off wanting to be in the poultry business. It just sort of grew that way. A lot of work. ~Suzanne

No, we ended up buying a large outdoor coop. We found a guy that sells them cheaper than I can build one. Thank God we live in the city, or I think my wife would have about as many chickens as you. Haha. The city only allows 6 and I’m good with that.

When you get some time take a picture of your new coop and post it! And yes you are lucky you don’t have that many chickens. Typically there is a noisy rooster in there and in my case, 7 noisy roosters. The day of sleeping in do NOT exist! The eggs are yummy though! ~Suzanne
