I really like the coffee table – looks like a (much bigger) version of a little one i built back in the fall. What kind of wood is it? Did you cut the big curves with a band saw?

The big table is 68” x 40” x 7/8” and the end tables are 30” x 17” x 7/8”. I used cherry for all the parts. I used cardboard cutouts to size it for the couch. I was originally thinking it would be about 40” long but it looked much too small.

I ruffed it out with a jigsaw, then finished it with a drum sander on my drill press. I lowered the drum down to the height of my bench to hold the table while i turned it. It weighs about 40 lbs.

Nice – what kind of receiver do you have on the entertainment console?

It’s a Pioneer xs-550 from the mid 70’s. Got it at a garage sale for $5 and replaced a burnt capacitor to restore the stereo. I also have a Sony 6060f from 1968.
