Not one of my earlier projects, but one of my first “big” ones. My sister was expecting her first child and asked if I could build a dresser for the baby. The way she said it kind of sounded like she was expecting like what you’d get from the local “big box” Anyway needless to say she was happy with how it turned out. Biggest issue for me was the stain. The wood is maple and she wanted a reddish tint…...I was NOT happy with how it turned out, blotchy…oh well live and learn

Maple can be tricky, but I agree with DaddyT….it looks great!

I’d to say that it is beautiful – built and finish.
Great job!

Nice job. Yeah, some of us may see blotches but so long as you don’t tell anyone most will never know. I think it looks pretty darn nice. I can definitely sympathize on staining maple to match what a woman has requested (always more work than one would think).
I can’t tell from the pictures, did you use plywood or solid for the carcass?

Nice job. I like the way you added the ‘blotchy’ appearance.

Thanks for the comments, it’s always good to get unbiased opinions :) I was probably harder on myself about my percieved blotchyness….wife said it was fine. The carcass was made out of 3/4 plywood.
