These qt. sawn and rift sawn white oak screen doors were built for a family friend.
who wanted something besides cheap cedar doors available at the big box centers.

Local hardwood from Ron Meyers Woodworking Batavia Il.
He has a great selection of local hardwoods that are air dried and kiln dried.
Mortise joints were draw bored tenon with outdoor Gorilla polyurethane glue.
Screen stops are held in with #6 screws.
Heavy duty dog screens

Hardware by Van Dykes Restorers..

Hinges :
Mortise Lock Set:
Surface Bolt of inactive door:

Arbor coat outdoor stain.

This was a fun build and install, not a lot of sexy wood working to talk about here.
I do really like the hardware package from Vandykes, the customer service was first rate.
delivery on time.
i might have to fine tune as weather acclimates because of my tight tolerances but so far so good.

Nice doors, shame they had to be painted.
