i saw these on a home improvement show a while ago and just haven’t gotten around to posting them yet.
i had a lenght of bamboo about 80mm wide and i cut them to the desired lengths. i melted down some old candles and used the natural “nodes” (which are the circular membrane structures inside the tubes) to keep the wax from falling to the bottom (the nodes should be about 3cm from the top depending on how long you want the candles to burn for)
while the wax was still wet i put in some wicks and then let the wax dry.

a hint for putting in the wicks:

cut wick to desired length
tie wick around a long skewer
lay skewer across bamboo and let the wick dangle into the wax

let dry and cut off wicks at desired hieght.

Fun and easy
comments and critiques welcome. (by the way, i finger painted the bamboo afterwards)

A very good use of Bamboo. Bamboo is a very versatile natural wood and with imagination you can use it to make many decorative and useful objects as you have done. I have seen a bigger size bamboo cut into half lengthwise and made into a hanging basket for plants.

Nice. I also found these Bamboo Candles which are pretty slick and the colors are nice.

On that same site I found coconut candles which are fun and could be made probably not too hard.
