Artists always sell their best work & this framed tile display is sold .. . but is available by special order danwalters@lumberjocks.com

Hello Lumberjocks

Thank you in advance for looking at my work.

titled: castle, field, road, rock and tree

Stoneware terracotta tile fired to 2375 degrees

Mortise and tenon quarter sawn white oak frame in my own original pagoda design

All of my tile designs start as a mahogany wood carving which is used to make plaster molds to press tiles.

One of my original Memphis tile designs …. Mahogany pattern made with dremel tool and sandpaper.

Tile landscape is based/inspired by a similar scene from a well known artist/tilest Ernest Batchelder

Again … Thank you for looking at my work.

Regards DAN

Dan, this is one of favorites also. I love the movement and coloration in the grain, it melds perfectly with your tile. Simply stunning…

Thanks for sharing.

Dan,

This is one great frame and tile. I really like the match between the color of the tile and the frame. Are you going to be putting this one up on eBay?

Over the top Dan. An old art instructor once told me that you can’t get a higher compliment than super. Super was to be used only for the best. SUPER!

I’m glad you guys like this one.

This tile, in a similar frame design, was my first framed tile ebay sale … many, many moons ago.

I recall the sale … got a nice price too. Good enough to recover the price paid for my first kiln.

Now I know where the term “Fancy Dan” came from. Both the project and the presentation are great !

As usual, Dan, very unique, interesting and very well accomplished. Very special work. By the way, I don’t think I’ve ever been told the size of these tiles. If I have I’ve forgotten.

Egyptian comes to mind when I see this, I don’t know why. It is really a beautiful piece, but you don’t need me to tell you that. I am in awe Dan.

Really impressed with your work and blending of the tile and frames you do. It is really well balanced, and I just found out you make your own tiles. Very nice work.
